I was in Pinamungahan with the volunteers of Tsinelas and Cebu Bloggers Society two weekends ago to assist in the Computer Literacy Program given to the highschool students of Lut-od national highschool. Located South of Cebu about 2.5 hours from the city.
The two trees below are found at the back of the school buildings in Lut-od. Insoy said it used to be a botanical garden that was well maintained, but that was decades ago. I'm sure it would look great if somebody would do it up again, but i also like the old dirty feel of the place. I sketched the scene on the other side of the brook that passed the garden.
This other tree is also by the brook, but on the other side of the school. I was taking a walk around the school and noticed it, kind of like the line in the song Stairway to heaven, after the realization, I knew what to do next :)
The panoramic view below is what you see when you look out from the chapel at Hidden Valley resort, located at Brgy Lamac, when it is not cloudy you can see the tip of Mt. Canlaon (highest peak in Negros Island) from where i was sitting.
Get to Pinamungahan by taking the bus (from the south bus terminal) to Toledo then take a trycycle or jeep to Pinamungahan.
Get to Hidden Valley resort by taking a motorcycle ride from Pinamungahan town proper. Fare is 100 pesos for one person or 50 pesos per head for two persons.
