Camotes Island

Image
Me and Kikit celebrated our first year anniversary in Camotes Island last August 15. It was an unexpected trip so i was not able to bring my notebook, luckily there are stores there that sell school supplies, so i got a pencil, sharpener, a sketchbook, and 2 pens, i was not able to use the pens though. you can see how thin the paper is on the sketchbook. Camotes island is a great island, unless you are being stalked by 'creatures of the night' :D Other than that, prices are cheap and the beaches are prestine and clean, there is also the cave where you can swim in if you are not claustrophobic. Get to camotes island by taking the ferry from Danao warf, you can tour the whole island in one day. Be sure to keep safe from 'wakwak'

Freedom Climb 2010: to Babag Peak

Image
Some talk about their ideals, some talk about how they lived their ideals,  some prefer not to talk about it... I started sketching at June 12,8am before we left to meet the Ewit Mountaineers, i was looking forward to tall trees, pine trees, and images of mountains in the background, so that concept started to take shape. This sketch was finished the day after at the Babag camp site around 7am. When we arrived at the Guadalupe church, the meeting area, we (me and kikit) where the first to arrive, so we sat around and i noticed the angel without hands. Then Ongkii arrived and he did not know he was still carrying his violet colored pen from review class. So i Borrowed it to sketch the dome of the Guadalupe church. On the top of a hill that has a flower garden, we sat for a while to catch our breaths The kind folks that lived on that hut prepared buko for us to snack on when we arrived just before we took the Ernest Trail. A quick sketch of a tree in th...

I sketched this on May 10, 2010 in Minglanilla. Their mini plaza just infront of this church is usually a crowded place but that day there was only me and kikit walking around, most of the town people were out voting for their presidential bet. The church is very symmetrical and and there is still more to sketch on its side but had no room in my notebook left for it. The church must look big from the inside. Location: Minglanilla town proper, Cebu Get there by taking the KMK bus from SM City.

Family Park trees

Image
This tree is sketched at Family park a long time ago before they cut it down and had it replaced with a dumb installation 'art' that did not really look good. But i guess the park still is a great place to be at during weekends, or when the stars are out at night. I used to go there often when i was still renting near the place. Family Park's location: Talamban, Cebu City Get there by taking the jeep number 13c from ayala center. fare is 8 pesos.
