the hill fronting the san isidro multi purpose hall

Image
This is the hill i sketched after our small christmas party for the kids and pens of hope in davao in lumundaw, a small community 2 hours away from davao city, last sunday, or yesterday afternoon.  when i started sketching, i was restless and panting from the activities but by the time i finished drawing i was feeling calm and relaxed. it made me realize how much i like to draw what i see. and the kids who gathered around me to watch me sketch thought that my drawing was good. hehehehe

angel statue holding a durian fruit at the new tagum city church

Image
a very unique angel sculpture on the entrance fountain of the church

tree at E Park, tagum city

Image
the tagum city e park is very big and green, with lots of trees, birds and couples dating, hehehehe, there is also a mini bird park where you can see different birds held captive, the coolest and tallest trees i have seen there are the ipil-ipil trees.

fullmoon over hilsha

Image
hold it up and silently cut the moon only after writing down the date of this sketch did i realize how awesome this night is, full moon on 11-11-11. that is horny multiplied 3 times with blood pulled by the moon's gravity. but you can prevent the blood lust from happening, take a scissor, hold it up and silently cut the moon.

the plant pot outside magellan's cross in cebu

Image
because this looked more interesting for me than the actual magellan's cross

public jeepney in bantayan island

Image
i sketched this at the terminal on my way back to santa fe, bantayan island from kampingganon. i was there for a short visit to bring flowers to the wake of yowee and mike's father. i could not complete the sketch because dexter's jeep already went on it's way. in another jeepney, a driver was sleeping on his hammock, tied to the hand rails inside the jeep, but the hammock broke and he fell to the jeepney's floor making a big thud to the delight of his friends in the other jeepneys. :D

manolo fortich, bukidnon, mindanao, philippines, one of the best places to go mountain biking

Image
someday i will freewheel down this slope and see how long before i kiss the red soil on the ground. hehehe i like to go biking on the countryside, that is why i am going to go back to bukidnon someday, live there for a couple of months maybe and go biking. also i think dahilayan adventure park would be a cool place to work in. just over the trees, is a cold spring which used to be a quary, i missed dipping in it when i was there outside of jp nalla's house a view from the inside of villa violeta, the road outside goes straight to dahilayan adventure park we all have to get mud and rain to completely enjoy the offroad biking experience this road leads to the chapel in the woods not sure if you can bike across a mountain to that house over there some of the stops going to dahilayan adventure park you can roam around dahilayan adventure park without paying for entrance, you only pay for the rides inside dahilayan adventure park ...

talisay tree at paradise resort, samal island

Image
Last sunday was my second time in Samal Island. the Paradise resort is very family friendly and clean. the water is clean and clear, you can go into the water and feed the fishes with breadcrumbs as we saw a man doing it when we disembarked from the pumpboat. it is not, i repeat it is not the place you would like to go with your friends to party because drinks cost alot, the Tanduay junior lapad costs 175 pesos and there are corkage fees when you bring food and drinks into the resort. there are no big trees in the location, although there are many talisay trees to  shade people. i would have drawn more but we had fun drinking instead. this is actually my 'tipsy' sketch hehehe from ateneo de davao, you can take a jeepney to the paradise warf for 9 pesos. the pumpboat ride costs 15 pesos and the resort entrance fee is 150 pesos, 50 pesos is consumable.

pines trees at camp john hay, baguio city

Image
camp john hay is a big place which has restaurants, hotels, golf courses, museum, an  amphitheater surrounded by flowers, butterfly garden and an adventure area. we were there only for a short time, we had lunch there, walked among the pine trees which i am sure, are older than i am. we also went inside the museum which creeped me out a bit because during that time there were no people around and i got goosebumps walking alone through a narrow corridor. i think there was also a mini cemetery. we got there by taking a taxi from the heart of baguio city, we paid less than 200 and that was in the summer of 2010.

nalla house

Image
this is the house we stayed at in libona, bukidnon for the wedding, fronting the house is an open field, it must be amazing there on a starry night, it was rainy that weekend.

villa violeta

Image
villa violeta was the reception area for the wedding, the food was good and the place was good, they also have room accommodations for guests staying overnight. the owners of villa violeta gave the couple a pair of  pillow cases with the 'villa violeta' embroidery as a gift.  a small sculpture wooden benches and table under two pine trees

the woods outside the sacred heart of jesus chapel

Image
the chapel is in the middle of the woods. although it is quiet there, it is situated inside the del monte plantation so you get the occasional tractor passing through. there used to be a housing community in that area but it was moved, the church however was not demolished, probably because many couples want to get married there for its romantic and solemn location.

views at dahilayan adventure park, bukidnon

Image
last week's long weekend gave me the opportunity to attend my friends' wedding and took a side trip to the adventure park the day after considering it is just 30 mins away from the newly wed's house. the area gave as a great view of the mountains as well as the coast. while waiting for the rides to open, around 730am looking down at the pine tree-covered hill we did all three zip lines (650 pesos) and i liked the one where i was zipping fast past the pine trees. the dahilayan adventure park is around 2 hours from cagayan de oro city and you can either get there by rented van or taxi. you can also take the habal habal from alae highway to the park for 200 pesos per head

salaysay hillside

Image
Last week we went to Salaysay Elementary school to give out school supplies for all the students under the Pens of hope in Davao project, the hill is about a kilometer (considering terrain) away from the school. It is around 2 hours from Davao City.

islets of britania

Image
hiyorhiyoran a view from hiyorhiyoran  approaching hiyorhiyoran islet boslon there are many more islands in that area when we went there and did not sketch them all, surely we will be back there for more swimming, snorkeling and less picture taking the next time. for more information in getting there, see my tinuy-an falls post.

tinuy-an falls, surigao del sur

Image
bear with me as i attempt to draw waterfalls, again. someday i will get better at this. last weekend we went to surigao del sur to enjoy the sights, we rented a van in davao city and left at 4am, the driver was doing an average of 80km/h on straight and zigzag roads, he was driving quite fast. our first stop was at tinuy-an falls in bislig at 9am, it was raining when we got there so i had to draw in less than 5 mins. also sketched some trees i suggest to plan for more days than just the weekend so you can spend the whole day at tinuy-an falls and enjoy the place. our total expenses for the whole weekend, per head was 3000minimum, it included overnight stay at la entrada resort, food, transportation, tinuy-an falls, enchanted river, island hopping at enchanted river, and island hopping at britania for trips to surigao del sur from davao, contact miss Cita the coolest tour guide ever 09268838606 in britania, contact her sister miss Myrna 09182155398
